'He [Adam Weishaupt] called them Areopagites, installed himself their chief, & called this monstrous association The Order of Illuminees. It was on the first of May, 1776, that the inauguration was celebrated. Let the reader well observe this epoch. It indicates a feeble beginning; it preceded the French Revolution but by a few years; that however was the time when that abominable Sect first started into existence, which was to combine all the errors, all the conspiracies, & all the crimes of the adepts of Impiety, Rebellion, or Anarchy, & which, under the name of Jacobin, was to consummate the dreadful Revolution.'  - Abe Barruel 'Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism'  (1797).

'May Day 1917 saw in Russia an inspiring manifestation of which the echo has resounded through the two worlds. In 1918 the First of May was for the first time celebrated by a people master of their own destinies.'  -  marxists.org

- Anton Lavey 'The Satanic Bible' (1966)

 In order to lay a foundation stone as it were for the beginnings of the Russian Revolution, I'll merely be regurgitating some already well known & worn quotes familiar to this website.

The point is to reiterate & to connect the plots & plotters of the October Revolution of 1917 to the Mystery Schools & to show that the whole scheme was just a part of the well integrated programme known to history as; 'The Great Work'. It's been done many times before, but seeing as it was a 100yrs ago, I'll mark the occasion by just creaming off some of the more pertinent notes of my favourite historians on the subject including the thoughts of some of the protagonists themselves.

'The policy of Grand Orient is avowedly International Socialism........The formula of the "United States Of Europe" & of the "Universal Republic" first proclaimed by the Illuminatus Anacharsis Clootz, has long been the slogan of the French lodges.' - Nesta Webster (1924).

'.....they [the Medieval Guilds] created their own form of government which we call today democracy & that democracy began within the structure of the guilds....it was up to the community to supply these men with a lambskin apron & a pair of gloves'  -  Manly Hall.

'Raleigh [Sir Walter] was a member of a secret society or body of men who were already moving irresistibly forward under the banner of democracy, & for that affiliation he died a felon's death.' -  Manly Hall (Rosicrucian & Masonic Origins)

The 'Aeropagites' referred to above by Barruel were a supreme board of aristocrats presiding over ancient Democratic & pre-Democratic Athens.

'In the early part of the eighteenth century the Rosicrucians turned their attention to the American Colonies, then forming the nucleus of a great nation in the New World. The American War of Independence represents their first great political experiment & resulted in the establishment of a national government founded upon the fundamental principles of divine & natural law.......The present democracies are the direct outgrowth of Rosicrucian efforts to liberate the maws from the domination of despotism....The Rosicrucians were also the instigators of the French Revolution.' - Manly Hall (1928).

'But mere democracy is unable to remedy social evils. Democratic equality is a chimera, the struggle of the poor against the rich cannot be fought out on the ground of democracy or politics in general. Hence this stage too is only a transition, the last purely political measure that still is to be tried & from which a new element must immediately develop, a principle transcending everything political. “This principle is the principle of socialism"
- Frederick Engels

'Democracy is indispensable to Socialism........The goal of Socialism is Communism'
- Lenin

The plot to bring down the Tsarist regime was long in the making (See  Myron Fagan);

'In the summer of 1809 Pierre returned to Petersburg. Our Freemasons knew from correspondence with those abroad that Bezukhov had obtained the confidence of many highly placed persons, had been initiated into many mysteries, had been raised to a higher grade, & was bringing back with him much that might conduce to the advantage of the Masonic cause in Russia. The Petersburg Freemasons all came to see him, tried to ingratiate themselves with him, & it seemed to them all that he was preparing something for them & concealing it.......The whole plan of our order should be based on the idea of preparing men of firmness & virtue bound together by unity of conviction—aiming at the punishment of vice & folly, & patronizing talent & virtue: raising worthy men from the dust & attaching them to our Brotherhood. Only then will our order have the power unobtrusively to bind the hands of the protectors of disorder & to control them without their being aware of it. In a word, we must found a form of government holding universal sway, which should be diffused over the whole world without destroying the bonds of citizenship, & beside which all other governments can continue in their customary course & do everything except what impedes the great aim of our order, which is to obtain for virtue the victory over vice. This aim was that of Christianity itself. It taught men to be wise & good & for their own benefit to follow the example & instruction of the best & wisest men. "At that time, when everything was plunged in darkness, preaching alone was of course sufficient. The novelty of Truth endowed her with special strength, but now we need much more powerful methods. It is now necessary that man, governed by his senses, should find in virtue a charm palpable to those senses. It is impossible to eradicate the passions; but we must strive to direct them to a noble aim, & it is therefore necessary that everyone should be able to satisfy his passions within the limits of virtue. Our order should provide means to that end. "As soon as we have a certain number of worthy men in every state, each of them again training two others & all being closely united, everything will be possible for our order, which has already in secret accomplished much for the welfare of mankind.  This speech not only made a strong impression, but created excitement in the lodge. The majority of the Brothers, seeing in it dangerous designs of Illuminism," - Leo Tolstoy 'War & Peace'

(1869 - Ch 7).

'Though calling themselves Christians, the Rosicrucians were evidently Platonists & also profoundly versed in the deepest mysteries of early Hebrew & Hindu theology. There is undeniable evidence that the Rosicrucians desired to reestablish the institutions of the ancient Mysteries as the foremost method of instructing humanity in the secret & eternal doctrine.....'
- Manly P Hall

'It was during that period that I became interested in Freemasonry....In the 18th century, freemasonry became the militant expression of the enlightenment, as in the case of the Illuminati, who were the forerunners of the revolution; on it's left, it culminated in the Carbonari. Freemasons counted among their members Louis XVI & the Dr Guillotin who invented the guillotine. In southern Germany, freemasonry assumed an openly revolutionary character, whereas at the court of Cathrine The Great [Russia] it was a masquerade reflecting the aristocratic & bureaucratic hierarchy.'
- Leon Trotsky (My Life).

'In 1862, the 1st International came into being & the part played in it by Freemasons such as Karl Marx, Tolain, Fribourg, Varlin, Camelinat, Beslay, Malon & Corbon is well known.....on the 5th of August [1862], all the delegates met at a dinner given to them by their English colleagues at Freemasons Hall [London], where an address was read which formed, as it were, the foundation-stone of the International ....Mazzini [Carbonari] & Marx were entrusted with the task of preparing the address & the constitution...A temple worthy of their cult was sought & found -- Temple Unique... was procured...the scheme of the association having been settled in London in 1864' - Edith Miller Occult Theocracy (1933).

'Marx was exiled to London in 1849 & lived the rest of his life there. Much of his time was spent in the reading r
ooms of the British Museum (which then housed the British Library collection) - this is his entry in the 1873 admissions register. There he worked on his most celebrated book Das Kapital. It puts forward his theory of political economy, with its celebrated phrase 'From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs'.

'He [Lenin] knew that time, be it ever so relative, was the most absolute of gifts. He spent a great deal of time in the British Museum, where he carried on his theoretical studies, & where he usually wrote his articles. With his assistance, I obtained admission to that sanctuary too, I was insasciable, & simply gorged myself on the super-abundance of the books there.....In my contacts with Whitechapel, & with the outside world in general, my go-between was an old Londoner, Alexeyev, an emigre Marxist who was closely allied with the editors of Iskra. He initiated me into the mysteries of English life, & in general was my source of information on all sorts of things'
- Leon Trotsky (
My Life).

The 'Iskra' of which Trotsky is speaking was a Marxian newspaper, with offices in Switzerland, Germany & London, Lenin & Trotsky both wrote for the London branch whilst they lived in London between 1901-02. Iskra, as Trotsky put it;

'....had as it's objective a centralised organisation of professional revolutionaries who would be bound together by the iron discipline of action.'

'SCYTHE
In the classic mythology, the scythe was one of the attributes of Saturn, the god of time because that deity is said to have taught men the use of the implement in agriculture. But Saturn was also the god of time; & in modern iconography Time is allegorized under the figure of an old many with white hair & beard, two large wings at his back, an hour-glass in one hand & a scythe in the other. It is in its cutting & destructive quality that the scythe is here referred to. Time is thus the great mower who reaps his harvest of men. Freemasonry has adopted this symbolism, & in the Third Degree the scythe is described as an emblem of time, which cuts the brittle thread of life & makes havoc among the human race.'

'Gavel

The true form of the gavel is that of the stonemasons hammer. It is to be made with a cutting edge, as in the engraving, that it may be used to break off the corners of rough stones, an operation which could never be effected by the common hammer or mallet.'
- Mackey's Encyclopaedia Of Freemasonry.

'I will use the sword against all who oppose the endeavours of the proletariat.'  - Moses Hess.

From the Communist Manifesto (1848) Marx & Engels write:

'We have seen above, that the first step in the revolution by the working class, is to raise the proletariat to the position of ruling class, to win the battle for democracy.' &; 'The Communist Manifesto had already proclaimed the struggle for the general franchise, for democracy, as one of the first & most important tasks of the militant proletariat.'
-  Frederick Engels;  'Introduction to Class Struggles in France' (1895).

'According to Lenin, socialism & democracy are indivisible....'
- Mikhail Gorbachev

Here are a few extracts from Nesta Webster's 1921 classic;
'World Revolution: The Plot Against Civilisation'
(Note; Webster addresses what Anthony Sutton called 'The Jewish conspiracy theory of the Bolshevik Revolution'. After documenting the main facets of this theory, Webster concludes by asking if it's all true? Then compares the Protocols of Zion to the tenets of the Mystery Schools &..........bingo).

'There was an original text on which the published version of the Protocols [Of Zion] was bas
ed. This original text was not a forgery. On the contrary it was authentic, but it had nothing whatever to do with Judaism or an 'international Jewish conspiracy'. It issued rather from some Masonic organisation or Masonically oriented secret society which incorporated the word 'Sion'
- Baigent, Leigh & Lincoln

'President Woodrow Wilson was the fairy godmother who provided Trotsky with a passport to return to Russia to "carry forward" the revolution. This American passport was accompanied by a Russian entry permit & a British transit visa. Jennings C. Wise, in Woodrow Wilson: Disciple of Revolution, makes the pertinent comment, "Historians must never forget that Woodrow Wilson, despite the efforts of the British police, made it possible for Leon Trotsky to enter Russia with an American passport." President Wilson facilitated Trotsky's passage to Russia at the same time careful State Department bureaucrats, concerned about such revolutionaries entering Russia, were unilaterally attempting to tighten up passport procedures.'
 - Anthony C Sutton 'Wall St & The Bolshevik Revolution' (1974).

'In an earlier book, published in 1974, we presented major evidence of Wall Street assistance for the Bolshevik Revolution. This assistance was mainly cash, guns & ammunition, & diplomatic support in London & Washington, D.C. Wall Street & The Bolshevik Revolution also introduced the concept which Quigley described, i.e., that Morgan & other financial interests financed & influenced all parties from left to
right in the political spectrum. This Memorandum continues the story, but now links The Order to the earlier evidence of Wall Street involvement.'
 -  Anthony C Sutton 'America's Secret Establishment' (1983).

'I committed a great error. My nightmare is to have the feeling that I'm lost in an ocean of blood from the innumerable victims. It is too late to return.'
 - Vladimir Lenin, on his deathbed.

 & to reiterate what Tolstoy said;

'The whole plan of our order should be based on the idea of preparing men of firmness & virtue bound together by unity of conviction—aiming at the punishment of vice & folly, & patronizing talent & virtue: raising worthy men from the dust & attaching them to our Brotherhood' (ibid).
