The Wikipedia entry for 'Aggressive Panhandling' (begging) reads;
'In general, aggressive panhandling is a solicitation made in person for immediate donation of money or other gratuity. This may be done by vocal appeal (asking, requesting, coercing (badgering), sympathy appeals, harassment, threats, or demands) or by nonvocal appeal (usage of signs or other signals gestures, postures, children, animals, or props such as toys & musical instruments). It is a habitual manipulative, coercive, or intimidatory use of another individual's sympathy, fear, guilt, or insecurity for monetary gain.'
'A homeless man has been sent to prison after he was spotted begging in one of the most affluent areas of Bristol. Adrian Hill has been sentenced to six months behind bars after being in breach of an injunction which bans him from entering Clifton Village & begging anywhere in the city.'
Sir Bob's message to the masses on Live Aid day, 1985.
'The BBC kept more than £100,000 viewers had pledged to charity for itself. Staff knowingly withheld money that should have gone to causes including Children in Need & Comic Relief. In another hammer blow to TV's reputation, the corporation has been ordered by its own ruling body, the BBC Trust, to apologise for the scandal on air.'
