This is really an adjunct to my; 'It's Not the Catholics' series of historical briefs into the actual role of the Church in history as opposed to the war-mongering band of degenerate-paedo-weirdos-image now prevalent across the media board, seemingly. This time it's a look into the Monastic Orders, their origins & their role in the actual destruction of the Church, nation & now mob...& yes that doesn't totally preclude Nuns. None of any of what I might say here should be of surprise to regular visitors to my website & video channels who'll be aware of the plan of the Mystical Schools to bring all this about & create a world according to their designs in place of the one which brought us to here, mainly under the influence of the Abrahamic religions.

(For those unfamiliar with this type of language I'd refer you to the first 39 episodes in Bill Coopers; Mystery Babylon radio series & the catalogue of Manly P. Hall.
For my view on the Church, see my Catholic Church blog)

When one thinks of an image of a; 'Monk', many will evoke images of the Eastern Buddhist version, & strangely enough this is where the discipline of Asceticism began, not from the Buddhists but from the Hindu Holy Men of India. The practice must have been brought back to Europe by the Greeks, possibly by Pythagoras (6th Cen BC), who is believed to have met the Buddha & founded the community of the ascetic Essenes in Palestine. In any event they were prevalent in the Levant prior to the Roman conquest of the area in the form of the Therapeutae of Egypt thus they predate Christianity by some 2/300yrs. These orders were not only monastic communities, living under strict religious observance, they were mystical, that is they practiced disciplines whereby they looked within for the answers to life in an effort to become one with the infinite/nature, cosmos etc, Yoga for example means to; 'Unite' with the divine source
at the root of all things.

When the Romans took over however, the separatist orders of monasticism suffered more persecution than under the more tolerant Greeks so had to operate with more caution & to my mind, had to be the precursors to the Hermetic, Gnostic & Neoplatonist Schools that eventually became the institutions behind Rosicrucianism & Freemasonry which subverted & usurped Christianity &
still thrive today by the way.

(Incidentally, my favourite television series as a child was the Japanese-created tale of the Buddhist Monk Tripitaka & his travails on a pilgrimage from China to India who is joined by the magically-gifted
Monkey; King Of The Monkeys)

But the monastic orders still survived, especially in the harsh climate of the Egyptian & Syrian deserts.

Much has been made of the  divergence between the teachings of St Paul & the teachings of Jesus as the two often seem incompatible, also there's the fact Paul was held in suspicion by many early Christians including some of the original Apostles.
It's more than likely Paul was a Gnostic & we have here the first evidence of infiltration by the Mystic Mystery Schools into Christendom, for the Bible says;

'Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, & then took his leave of the brethren, & sailed thence into Syria, & with him Priscilla & Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.'  - Acts (18).

The practice of shaving the head came from Buddha himself.

Picture
The earliest Christian Monachist is said to be St Anthony of Egypt
(circa 2/300 AD) whose Hermitic
lifestyle soon attracted a band of devotees & became the canonical prototype for subsequent orders, both male & female;
'...men & women abstained from marriage, from flesh meat, from the use of intoxicating drink [but not for long], & devoted themselves to prayer, religious exercises & works of charity.'
- Encyclopaedia Britannica (1961)

[St Paul preached; 'Charity'....Paul would interpret the words of Jesus Mystically, which is how he managed to gather such a huge audience wherever he went, as he was keeping the old Pagan religion alive under a new banner, meanwhile the Qabbalists were doing the same to Judaism & that practice continues to this very day. & as with Freemasonry, only those at the head of the Orders will know the true nature of its purpose, whereas most will have gone to their grave believing they've served Jesus or God with the utmost sincerity, as many members of the secret societies do still]

Many other mystical Christian monastic orders sprang up out of the Egyptian desert, each quite separate from the orthodoxy of the newly-formed Catholic Church in that many practiced the liberal custom (for the day) of having both male & female schools, such was the case in the Far East of course. However my point is the monastic schools have always been notoriously private, one is obliged to remain SILENT for long periods of time,
unlike the up-front-edness of Church, & mainly because of these austere disciplines they're looked upon with more of a certain superstitious reverence....or has that image been cultivated through the years to afford it the privacy, even the secrecy it required?
I'd say yes, history tells me so, because included in the subsequent Communal orders noted in the Encyclopaedia Britannica 1961 are the Knights Hospitallers & Knights Templars.
They could have operated as the cell network,
certainly the later Orders did.

burned at the stake in their traditional habits (robes) for heresy, Paris 1314
Behind the Knights Templar were the Cistercians, of whom the figure of St Bernard stands out as it was he who gave the Templars their Charter to follow whilst in operations in the Middle East.
The Templars became the worlds first international bankers & are now firmly seated in London, England, who's people adopted their banner some 700yrs ago. Incidentally, you may have heard of the cryptic  'Prophecy Of The Popes' supposedly by Irish cleric St Malachy? He gave a brief Nostradamus-like quote for each of the 112 Popes to follow after his day in the mid-12th Cen, after which will follow the destruction of Rome....we're now up to the 112th with this Pope. For what it's worth, St Malachy died
in the arms of St Bernard.

& while we're on the subject of Ireland;
'The only serious rival [to the Benedictines] was the Irish order of [St] Columban. The beginnings of Irish monarchism are obscure. When, however, Irish monarchism emerges into the full light of history, it was in its manifestations closely akin to the Egyptian or even Syrian type....The Irish monks were great missioners....' (ibid)

As were their descendants. Some of you may have seen my videos on Sir Lawrence Gardner, who famously continued the Jesus & Mary chain yarn after Holy Blood Holy Grail & prior to the
Da Vinci Code, amongst his plethora of titles were;
'Prior of the Sacred Kindred of St Columba' &
'Knight Templar of St Anthony'.

When the Templars/Hospitallers began trading (for usury) with the eastern nations, so did the massive abbeys, cathedrals, churches begin springing up in Europe. They say the Order Of Templars were founded in 1118/9, however the Cistercians, Benedictine's etc weren't & they both trace their heritage back to Egypt. Many monks were confessed Hermits just like the pre-Christian Therapeutae of Egypt,
as was
Alberic of Cîteaux, one of the founders of the Cistercians, & when the Crusades began colonising the Holy Land in the late 10th Cen, they were led by Peter The Hermit, & although academia will say there's no connection, the word sounds awfully
like Hermetic (Magickal) to me...

In any event, some of the above may go some way in explaining the curious relationship the Crusades had with that infamous sect of mystical cutthroats the; Assassins, themselves a product of the
school of the House of Cairo. Moreover, apart from the odd tyrant, the Muslim Caliph's would generally respect the Christian pilgrims & holy places, similar to when the British returned to sack the Holy Land in 1917, the Crusaders surely had agents scouting the land for years under the cover of piety, in the early 11th Cen it was the Benedictines who had a foothold in Jerusalem, in the 20th it was the Palestine Exploration Fund operating as archeologists.

Medieval Europe was the pinnacle of the monastic orders fame in terms of what the annals of history tell us, they began to come out from behind the veil somewhat compared to how they'd existed previously for 100's of years. They were behind much of the clerical work of the Church & even broke out into liaison with the temporal powers of the era....in the form of the Inquisition.
Can it be coincidence that when the Templars et al began losing their foothold in the Holy Land, the trouble in Europe began in earnest? The openly mystical cults of the Albigensian's, Cathars etc began rebelling against Papal rule & were soon quashed, partly by the Templars & the Dominicans took charge of the interrogation aspect of the insurrections. Is it any wonder the methods were brutal?? This is the proverbial Lunatics running the asylum scenario on the face of it, but actually, it's just the old
Dialectic
(also a Buddhist concept)
doing its handiwork;

Problem - Reaction - Solution
(Thesis - Antithesis - Synthesis)

The Church & some of the less mystically-minded Kingdoms eventually nipped the Dialectic in the rosebud for the time being
& outlawed the Templars so that by the end of the Middle Ages, although by that time the Church had become nothing more than a pawn in the Great Game.
It only survived through the backing of the Kingdoms who were orthodox & there were many, religious literacy had a way to go yet.

[Incidentally, the great building complexes of Central America could have been built under the instruction of the esoteric schools around the same period the great cathedrals were going up around Europe;

'Certain people came from the north. . . . These were men of good carriage, well-dressed in long robes of black linen, open in front, & without capes, cut low at the neck, with short sleeves that did not come to the elbow. . . . They brought with them as their chief & head a personage called Quetzalcoatl, a fair & ruddy complexioned man, with a long beard. . . . These followers of Quetzalcoatl were men of great knowledge & cunning artists in all kinds of fine work.'

There were lots of schools where I grew up in Manchester named after so many Saints of the monastic orders; St Thomas Aquinas,
St Francis Assisi, St Ignatius & so on, thus I always took it for granted these were straight up Catholic clergymen.....wrong,
they were Illuminists, bent on the destruction of the Church.

On his deathbed, Christopher Columbus wore the habit of the Franciscans;
'The Messiah is shadowed in the Old Testament under many types; such as those of a lion, a lamb, a roe, the morning star (or the planet Venus, otherwise called Lucifer), the sun, light, a rock, a stone, the branch, the vine, wine, bread, water, life, the way, & he is there recognised in the triple character of a king, a priest, & a prophet. It is very extraordinary that Quetzalcoatl, whom the Mexicans believed equally to have been a king, a prophet, & a pontiff, should also have been named by them Ceyacatl, or the morning star...'
- Lord Kingsborough (Taken from Manly Hall's;
America's Assignment With Destiny 1951)

Columbus means; Dove. The Dove is the bird of Venus.
Is it a coincidence the Church Of Satan was formed in
St Francisco? & a year later the 'Love-Ins' began there,
sparking the Hippie Movement?
Doubt it not....

In Madame Blavatsky's 1888 classic; 'The Secret Doctrine',
she explains how the Secret Doctrine was formulated & perpetuated in the monasteries of the East....by Monks.

- http://gnosis.org/thomasbook/ch22.html

My view is the Secret Doctrine was then perpetuated in the monasteries in the west, this explains why the leading monks of history's doctrines are so radically different from
those of the orthodox Church;

'Thomas [Aquinas] spent three years in Paris, studying philosophy, & then was sent to Cologne, in 1248, under the supervision of Albert The Great. This older Dominican proved to be the ideal mentor. Albert was at the time the leading figure in the newly prominent program of melding Christian theology with
Greek & Arabic philosophy.'

'In the Middle Ages, St. Thomas Aquinas helped create the Western model of university education. Aquinas’s teacher
Albertus [The Great] Magnus wrote on alchemy & was so
famous that many books he didn’t write were attributed to him..'

Ramon Llull is regarded by many as the greatest Alchemist of the Middle Ages, he was also a
Brother of  The "Third Order"
of St. Francis.

Christian Rosenkreuz, (allegorical) founder of the Rosicrucians was raised in a monastry.

Martin Luther was a monk of the mendicant order of the;
Augustinian Hermits, he was also a member of the Watchmakers Guild & awarded a medal of protection in solemn assembly after
presenting his 95 Theses to the world;

'On Oct. 31, 1517, an obscure German professor of theology named Martin Luther launched an attack on the Roman Catholic Church by nailing his 95 Theses to the door of Wittenberg’s Castle Church..'
- Washington Post

The schism in the Church Luther caused by his actions set Europe ablaze for the next 500yrs.
& when Henry VIII of England broke from the Catholic Church in 1534, he dissolved the monasteries. Now if we remember that Hitler closed the Masonic Lodges in WWII, we're inclined to believe he did so because they've always acted as cells
for revolutionary activity;

Ostensibly formed by Ignatius Loyola & his compadres Peter Faber & St Francis Xavier as a means to counter the Protestant Reformation, the mendicant 'Society Of Jesus' (The Jesuits) became the most infamous of all the (supposedly) Catholic institutions.
Loyola was suspected by the Church as having connections with the Spanish Illuminati (Alumbrados) yet managed to convince
the Church to allow his new band of soldier monks to travel with the colonising nations of Europe & force their religio/politico ideals upon the native peoples.

Then there was the Bavarian Illuminati, founded by Jesuit Adam Weishaupt; '
Their founder’s aim was to replace Christianity with a religion of reason.'

It'd be pointless to go beyond this point as the Illuminati's plans for Christianity are seemingly coming to fruition. However the point being made is this, the ancient plans for the infiltration & usurpation of all religious & secular institutions laid by the Hermetists/Gnostics/Neoplatonist's over 2000yrs ago have undoubtedly been aided & abetted by the monastic systems,
to what extent? It's impossible to say, because as I noted earlier, many if not most of the adherents of these orders would not have been privy to the schemes delineated above. For the monastic orders to act as a cover for the Mystery Schools it would have had to be this way of course, even though it would seem preposterous in our time to believe they could have pulled the wool over the Church & States eyes for such a length of time....But they didn't.
They were under suspicion since the creation of the Inquisition, unfortunately, they were far too organised, disciplined, ingenious & downright underhanded for any organisation on earth to deal with.

Christianity (not just the Catholic Church)
made a fair fist of it however,

as has & is Judaism & Islam.

EPIBLOG

'The Therapeutae are described as living chastely with utter simplicity; they "first of all laid down temperance as a sort of foundation for the soul to rest upon, proceed to build up other virtues on this foundation". They renounced property and followed severe discipline: "These men abandon their property without being influenced by any predominant attraction, and flee without even turning their heads back again". They were dedicated to the contemplative life, and their activities for six days of the week consisted of asceticpractices, fasting, solitary prayers and the study of the scriptures in their isolated cells, each with its separate holy sanctuary, and enclosed courtyard:
the entire interval from dawn to evening is given up by them to spiritual exercises. For they read the holy scriptures and draw out in thought and allegory their ancestral philosophy, since they regard the literal meanings as symbols of an inner and hidden nature revealing itself in covert ideas.

In each house there is a consecrated room which is called a sanctuary or closet (monastērion), and closeted (monoumenoi) in this they are initiated into the mysteries of the sanctified life. They take nothing into it, either drink or food or any other of the things necessary for the needs of the body, but laws and oracles delivered through the mouth of prophets, and hymns and anything else which fosters and perfects knowledge and piety. They keep the memory of God alive and never forget it … Twice every day they pray, at dawn and at eventide … The interval between early morning and evening is spent entirely in spiritual exercise. They read the holy scriptures and seek wisdom from their ancestral philosophy … For six days they seek wisdom by themselves in solitude in the closets (monastēriois) mentioned above … But every seventh day they meet together as for a general assembly … (in a) common sanctuary'
