 'XX. THE AEON [Trump card of the Tarot] In this card it has been necessary to depart completely from the tradition of the cards, in order to carry on that tradition. The old card was called The Angel: or, The Last Judgment. It represented an Angel or Messenger blowing a trumpet, attached to which was a flag, bearing the symbol of the Aeon of Osiris. Below him the graves were opening, the dead rising up. There were three of them. The central one had his hands raised with right angles at the elbows & shoulders, so as to form the letter Shin, which refers to Fire. The card therefore represented the destruction of the world by Fire. Crowley was many things, a painter, a treble-agent for British Intelligence, a band manager, a world-renown mountaineer, a pioneer in bringing eastern mysticism to the west, but most of all he was a writer of the first rank, perhaps among the top ten of the 20th Cen, certainly one of the most influential. Fans included John Lennon & Manly Hall (one really can't ask for much more on this planet), however, if one is asked to pigeon-hole Crowley, the usual response would be, 'Occultist', a vague term most people would never know the real meaning of. In other words, it's very difficult to pin down what Crowley actually was, in his many biographies, he's frequently portrayed as a failed writer on magic or the occult (hidden, secreted away, underneath etc), always broke, forever being sued for this & that & always on the run for being a downright scoundrel, so after reading a bio on the Great Beast, one is invariably left wondering what on earth the big deal was about this guy? This I believe to be a smokescreen, as Crowley himself stated on more than one occasion, he'd; '….been chosen by the gods to inaugurate the new post-Christian era on earth.' (Colin Wilson 'Nature of the Beast' 1987). Some may contest my assertions on Crowley's literary achievements, however I'm basing my judgement on quality not quantity, for example, if someone like Manly Hall keeps Crowley books in his office desk at all times, I'm thinking there's something a bit special within the contents of Crowley material that means something important to some very powerful people. In terms of influence, it's been said many times he was the impetus for a 20th Cen social group famous for it's espousal of eastern gurus, the San Francisco-based…...Hippies. The Beatles (1967) & The Doors (1970) went so far as to place AC on their album covers, a glowing testament to his status amongst rock stars & if anything, his popularity among the clientele of that genre has increased since those days….not at all bad for a dodgy layabout. So hows this happened? The answer is, poetry aside, Crowley's literary work is aimed at Initiates of the Great Work, seldom are the 'profane' attracted to the Master Therion's canon.  That said, a book (not bio) charting a different perspective on Crowley has emerged in recent years by US Historian Professor Richard B Spence (2008) focuses on Crowley's career within British Intelligence, which lasted the span of his adult life. Though Spence seems genuine enough, like the Crowley biographers, he must be taken with a pinch of snuff to my mind (he refers to Crowley as 'our man'). The following are a list of courses taught by Spence at Idaho University where the Professor works;
In my experience, universities are places students go to be unwittingly indoctrinated into Marxist ideology, should they be studying any of the Humanities. In any event, maybe these qualifications are a prerequisite to publishing a thesis on Crowley? Whatever the case, Spence's book, 'Secret Agent 666', does add another useful dimension to the conundrum concerning the man with perhaps the most epithets in British history. Where Spence' book helps is it verifies the subversive nature of Aleister Crowley & the institutions he represented during his life, revealing the interdependent relationship between the secret services & secret societies & their political doctrine of socialism. 'Moreover, we know that the masonic movement in England was used by the Russian KGB to infiltrate, take over & finally head British Intelligence organisations'. - Anthony C Sutton 'Secret Cult of the Order' (1983). The point I'd like to make out of all this is to merely strengthen our contention that the Mysteries Schools are behind most if not all of the significant events we witness today, even the secret services & have been for a few hundred years, using the fine example of Aleister Crowley to illustrate this point. (Please note: I say 'British' & 'French' for convenience sake only when in reference to the people behind the acts of genocide, espionage etc, I'm referring actually to the power behind these nation states, the 'Mystery Schools' & not the British or French people, who's role I see in the participation of these acts as being brought about in the main by deception & stupidity)  The British & French had by the turn of the 20th Cen pretty much laid the groundwork for the worlds nations & economies to be tied into one, standardised unit, the problem now was to iron out any potential resistance to the ultimate prize of a new world order. Judging by history, the main obstacles were the Far East nations of China & Japan, the freedom-loving Americans & naturally the ever-powerful Russians & Germans. I personally believe British agents were the main instigators of the French Revolution, & although very real, the German 'Illuminati' were created at an auspicious date (1776) to take the heat, that Napoleon (who succeeded the Illuminati-created French 'Reign of Terror') was a British agent & thus the French/British partnership was formed at the turn of the 19th Cen, not the 20th as we're told. The Illuminati come very much under the auspices of the Rosicrucians who were/are based in London & have been since the Wars of the Roses (15th Cen). 'Entente Cordiale, (April 8, 1904), Anglo-French agreement that, by settling a number of controversial matters, ended antagonisms between Great Britain & France & paved the way for their diplomatic cooperation against German pressures in the decade preceding World War I (1914–18). The agreement in no sense created an alliance & did not entangle Great Britain with a French commitment to Russia (1894). Opens the 'Entente Cordial' entry on britannica.com. Throughout his life, Aleister Crowley would be involved in numerous spats over the control of one branch of the Rose Cross after another, but as I see it, they are bound by their Orders never to reveal any of the secrets of their Craft….so how would we hear of any dispute within the ranks? Never mind there being public confrontations in the courts or even on the street as was the case with Crowley & W. B. Yeats…..all contrived theatre by my estimation, again, to alleviate internal heat of some description, whereas the reality would be a different universe, how many domestics do we hear of within Freemasonry for instance? (See Crowley in Masonic garb above). Everywhere you look it's a cloak of mystification, for example Crowley's Wikipedia entry cites Spence' claim that Crowley's leadership challenge in the Golden Dawn was a subversive attempt to destroy it from within because the Order was implicated in a Jacobite conspiracy against the British Crown, alluding of course to the centuries old Stuart Dynasty restoration but behind that squabble lies the division between English & French Freemasonry & on & on….... In any event AC did rise through the inner levels at rapid pace & achieved the higher Rose Cross degrees at a relatively young age, whereupon he began to travel the globe & create offshoot branches in many countries under many different names, & as Professor Sutton pointed out above, these lodges can function as bases for subversive cells to operate from under the guise of what most people perceive as a harmless, if a bit weird, cult. Richard Spence dates Crowley's first act of espionage to his Cambridge University days. Spence, already author of a book on another legendary British spy, Sidney Reilly states that a certain character type is only suitable to espionage, such is the peculiar nature of the work involved. The Freemason or the Rosicrucian are perfect for the role as they are trained in the art of keeping their mouth shut or when the need arises, to speak out the side of it (ask any Amerindian). Consequently, members of the secret societies are used to a kind of role-play, 'One must speak sometimes in one way, sometimes in another, so that our real purpose should remain impenetrable to our inferiors.' (Adam Weishaupt). For obvious reasons, such bordering on the schizophrenic personalities are ideal for the secret services, & Crowley's fitted the criteria like a glove. Thats not to say such a person is unbalanced, children do it naturally depending on who they're talking to & females are generally brilliant at it, it just means one needs to be a good actor….as well as morally deficient in this instance. Ostensibly, AC's Russia trip was a language course, however both Spence & Crowley biographer Richard Kaczynski (2002) point to diplomatic manoeuvres, meaning a kind of Intelligence work-placement I guess. Russia was about to receive a hammer blow from which it may never recover, wielded by London & New York financiers. Both Lenin & Trotsky lived in London, at one point (1907), Lenin, Trotsky & Stalin all convened in London for the '5th Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party' moreover, in his autobiography, Trotsky states he began studying Freemasonry whilst in London & was chaperoned by mysterious members of the Craft whilst there. Crowley was to return to Russia in 1913 just prior to his US sojourn, this time as a band manager, Aleisters; 'Ragged Rag-Time Girls' was the name of the group, alas however, the band went their separate ways when they landed back in Blighty. Between Russian excursions Crowley made a huge name for himself as a mountaineer. By 1905 he'd participated in then led an attempt to ascend the 2nd & 3rd highest mountains in the world, K2 (1902) & Kangchenjunga (N & NE India) in the Himalayas, managing to ascend farther than anyone previously but unable to conquer either. The Kangchenjunga attempt (1905) lived on in infamy amongst mountaineer lore for Crowleys sacrilegious refusal to help some of his party who'd been caught in an avalanche, they were returning down the mountain in mutiny at Crowleys barbaric treatment of the local guides & were left to their fate despite being in earshot of Crowley & the rest, however, whereas the rest came to their aid, team leader Crowley refused to move, & four men were killed. Funnily enough, there were more Englishmen battering their way through the indigenous Himalayans at that point in time. A British expedition had set out to conquer Tibet via Kangchenjunga (late 1903) under Manly Hall's great pal Sir Francis Younghusband. Details are sketchy but the upshot was the Brits butchered their way to victory through the pacifist Tibetans guarding the passes, who stood in their way, but refused to use violence, whereupon the expedient Younghusband machine-gunned them down by the 1000. From there AC travelled around the newly British-conquered China for a year or so, probably on opium exportation business according Spence, 'The Beast recounts, that among his goals on the trip was to "get available information about the effects of smoking opium". Betwixt Himalayan antics he'd been in recently British-acquired (pre-Palestine)….Egypt (1904), where he'd received by means of a guardian angel named 'Aiwass', 'The Book Of The Law' & it's from this book I frequently use his '….I spit on your crapulous creeds' quote……strange language for a spirit-guide but hey. Incidentally, it was Egypt where Moses received the Book of the Law from God, & later Hermes received his legendary revelation from his angelic being. '& Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, & shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; & they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? & God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: & he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.' (Exodus 3 KJV). I was? No, I am.  In 1911 Crowley wrote, 'Before man is ready to accept the Law of Thelema, the Great War must be fought. This Bloody Sacrifice is the critical point of the World-Ceremony of the Proclamation of Horus, the Crowned & conquering Child, as Lord of the Aeon.' (Of the Bloody Sacrifice & Matters Cognate). At the outbreak of WW1 AC travelled to the US aboard the Lusitania, there he remained till 1919, tirelessly working for German propaganda throughout the war & the Irish struggle towards independence from Britain (other members of the Golden Dawn were also involved), whilst all the while on His Majesty's Secret Service. Once again Leon Trotsky happened to be living in the same town as the Beast, this time in New York, just prior to the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution (See A C Sutton's; 'Wall St & The Bolshevik Revolution'). From among AC's associates during his time in New York Crowley could count several prominent Irish Republicans, whether or not he knew many Cosa Nostra isn't certain, whats not in doubt is he would have met a few when he moved to Sicily from 1920-23 to found his now infamous, 'Abbey of Thelema' on the outskirts of Palermo. That was the aeon when Fascist Dictators began springing up all over Europe, & in Italy's case, it was old MI5 Operative Benito Mussolini, who, like Aleister, exhibited from time to time a penchant for the mystical side of life, he once wrote; 'Fascism is a religious conception in which man is seen in his immanent relationship with a superior law & with an objective Will that transcends the particular individual & raises him to conscious membership in a spiritual society'. The Greek word for 'Will' is translated as 'Thelma'. Maybe Crowley had his opium contacts in China to thank for the relatively peaceful passing of his proto-Hippy commune existence in the heart of Mafia land, who knows? 'After WWII, the U.S. Navy's "OperationChatter" continued to experiment with mescaline as a "speech-enhancing agent." The same & related psychedelics featured prominently in the CIA's secret MK Ultra mind control projects, which flourished throughout the 1950's & 1960's. Crowley, circumstantial evidence suggests, was a pioneer in this bizarre field & his groundbreaking work may have informed some of those experiments. He once boasted, "I have myself made extensive & elaborate studies of the effects of indulgence in stimulants & narcotics," & produced "a vast quantity of data" on the subject.' (Spence).  Crowley pops up next destitute in gay Paris we're told, devoting most of his time (1923-29) to writing. As the official story goes, the French authorities suspected AC to be a German spy & eventually asked him to move on, as did Mussolini (One wonders why so gifted a writer would need to place himself in a perpetual state of peril?) The truth is he was not deported from either France nor Italy & returned frequently to both countries. During his time in Paris, a hugely influential book appeared on the underground Parisian scene named, 'Le Mysterie Des Cathedrals' describing the Medieval Alchemical stone images within Frances cathedrals (Notre Dame, Chatres etc) without the true authors identity ever being revealed. The al-chemical language in it is reminiscent of the Master Therion himself & a book depicted on the original cover contains the word 'Liber', a title Crowley used on most of his Thelema books. Bill Cooper prefaced his show on the subject by hinting the books origins lie not in France, but in 'Albion'….England, specifically the Rosicrucia in Anglia, & Cooper knew what he was talking about. 'This state of the great Work therefore consisted in the mingling of the contradictory elements in a cauldron. This is here represented as golden or solar, because the Sun is the Father of all Life, & (in particular) presides over distillation. The fertility of the Earth is maintained by rain & sun; the rain is formed by a slow & gentle process, & is rendered effective by the co-operation of air, which is itself alchemically the result of the Marriage of Fire & Water. So also the formula of continued life is death, or putrefaction. Here it is symbolized by the caput mortuum on the cauldron, a raven perched upon a skull.' - Aleister Crowley (Book of Thoth). By the time Crowley moved to Berlin in 1930 (1930-2), he was making ends meet by scratching a living as an expressionist painter. Luckily for him, painters were IN at the time in Germany, as one was about to assume power. Perhaps he would have appreciated Crowley's recent work on the Swastika, had it ever been brought to his attention; 'The I [in Qabbala] is formed from the V by removing its tail, the A by balancing 4 Yods, the O by making an inverted triangle of Yods, which suggests the formula of Nuit --- Hadit --- Ra-Hoor-Khuit. A is the elements whirling as a Svastika --- the creative Energy in equilibrated action.' - 'Magic In Theory & Practice' (1929). Some Frenchmen believe it was not only possible the Führer was acquainted with Crowley's work, but the two were acquainted; 'Actually, he went to Berlin to play the role of secret adviser to Hitler who was then at his beginning. It is probably this that had given rise to certain tales about the Golden Dawn, but in reality it was only about Crowley, because it does not seem that a certain English colonel named Etherton, who was then his “colleague”, had ever had the least relationship with that organization. A little later, Crowley founded the Saturn-Lodge in Germany; have you ever heard of it? There he called himself Master Therion, & his signature was to mega Therion (the Great Beast), something that in Greek gives exactly the numeric value 666.' - Rene Gunon (Philosopher). Spence credits Gunons credentials but does not mention such a scenario, he does however relate to the Crowley/Hitler hypothesis in this manner; 'At or right after the Weida Conference, the Mage encountered one of Hitler's co-conspirators in the Beer-hall Putsch, General Erich Ludendorff. All but dictator of Germany in the final years of the war, Ludendorff had drifted into mystical right-wing extremism & saw germanise defeat as the work of sinister "occult forces, namely Jews, Jesuits, & Freemasons. The antidote, Ludendorff argued, was the revival of German paganism, which would replace enfeebling "Jewish" Christianity. This view gave him somewhat common ground with Crowley & also formed the basis of his loose alliance with the Nazi's. Crowley recalled that he & Ludendorff discussed "Nordic Theology", including the occult symbol of the swastika. He later spun this into the claim that he, through Ludendorf, convinced Hitler to adopt the swastika as his Party's talisman.' After a lifetime of constant travel, Aleister Crowley spent his last years in England. Owing to his standing within the Rosicrucian Fellowship, Crowley had created semi-autonomous branches in several countries working under the auspices of the Rose Cross itself, including those of the A∴A∴(Silver Star) & the Order of Thelema, previously mentioned. Crowley also headed the British then American branches of the Masonically-based & German; 'Ordo Templi Orientis' (Order of Oriental Templars) from 1912 & took over it's full leadership from Theodore Reuss (German Intelligence & traitor) in 1923, the year Adolf Hitler attempted to seize power in Bavaria, 'Hitler forced these men to support his proclamation of a national revolution & called upon them to follow him to Berlin on the model of Benito Mussolini’s March on Rome of the preceding year.' I asked earlier why Crowley would seemingly needlessly place himself in constant danger by living a life of a double/treble agent? The answer seems to be is he was in no more danger than the average man walking the street, probably less. His German press colleagues in America were mostly if not all members of the secret societies, some were in the O.T.O., the same goes for the founders of Hitlers political party who predominantly belonged to the Thule Society (Main Kampf was dedicated to a founding member). 'By one account, Crowley did interrogate [Rudolf] Hess, not at MI6's Camp Z (Mytchett Place), but at a secret MI5 facility. This was Camp 020, otherwise known as Latchmere House or Ham Common. According to information received by Richard Koenig, the Beast interviewed Hess there over a three week period' (Spence). Rudolf Hess was a member of the Thule Society, & it was Hess who flew on a desperate mission to Scotland in 1941 to try to stop the war, to no avail. All the bio's of Crowley who mention it suggest Hess was lured there by his contacts in MI5, including James Bond creator Ian Fleming, who's brother Peter wrote a novel in 1940 named; 'The Flying Visit', envisioning Hitler flying to Britain on a futile peace mission. Hitler would probably have fared better than Hess seeing as he lived in Liverpool for a year or so, according to his own Irish sister-in-law, Bridget Hitler. Unlike Crowleys WW1 German colleagues however, nationalists Hess, Hitler et al were to be sold down the river & demonised for all eternity. Back to Crowley's status as Mage. As noted, Crowley would go round the Americas founding lodges based on his new religion, Thelema. In his Mystery Babylon series (19/36/37/38), Cooper describes in some detail & with great emphasis the proceedings & purpose of the 'Rose Cross Convention' in Quakertown Pennsylvania 1916, on the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Order. One of the objectives was to bring the US back into the fold of Great Britain. The convention speaks of dignitaries from England & White Russia in attendance, again from Spence; 'The day after Christmas [1915], the Beast surfaced in an interview in the Washington Post. This noted his presence in D.C. only a few days before. The article presented him as an occult scholar dedicated to reconciling science & magic, but embedded in the piece were some revealing comments about the OTO & his labours on it's behalf. Crowley said that he recently founded "several lodges" on the pacific coast [including San Francisco, LA & San Diego] & that another was now "in the process of formation in Washington". He characterised the Order as a "semi-Masonic organization" that "follows Rosicrucian lines", which makes it sound like that mysterious German order with a secret chief in Berlin.' Then there's the Knights Templar degree on the eve of the Balfour Declaration etc etc…….(see 'Israfel' quote below). The Knights Templar were & are called; 'The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ'…..Small wonder Crowley is always portrayed as penniless then eh? Whats with Crowley & the mountains? 'Wheatley's own ties to intelligence predates the 2nd World War. In that conflict he would become a member of the super-secret London Controlling Section (LCS), a body presided over by [Freemason] Winston Churchill. The LCS oversaw military security, code-breaking & deception. Another associate was Peter Fleming. A curious detail about the LCS is that it's "mascot" was a Roman statuette of Pan, a deity Crowley knew well' (Spence). In the Dark Ages of Christianity, it was completely misunderstood. Eliphaz Levi studied it very deeply because of its connection with ceremonial magic, his favourite subject; & he re-drew it, identifying it with Baphomet, the ass-headed idol of the Knights of the Temple ……...The card represents Pan Pangenetor, the All-Begetter. It is the Tree of Life as seen against a background of the exquisitely tenuous, complex, & fantastic forms of madness, the divine madness of spring, already foreseen in the meditative madness of winter; for the Sun turns northwards on entering this sign. The roots of the Tree are made transparent, in order to show the innumerable leapings of the sap; before it stands the Himalayan goat, with an eye in the centre of his forehead, representing the god Pan upon the highest & most secret mountains of the earth. His creative energy is veiled in the symbol of the Wand of the Chief Adept, crowned with the winged globe & the twin serpents of Horus & Osiris…….Saturn, the ruler, is Set, the ass-headed god of the Egyptian deserts; he is the god of the south. The cult of the mountain is an exact parallel. Manly Hall kept a signed Book of Thoth in his desk at all times, which tells me they knew each other. Both lived in New York for years before Crowley left for England & Hall for the west coast, both in 1919. I'd go even further & suggest Crowley taught Hall, Crowley was a great teacher in his field it must be said, how else could he have commanded the legion of disciples he did during his lifetime? There's obviously something unique about his writings as well, or else they could not have been as influential as they were/are. Crowley's works induce a transformation in the reader, there's no doubt about it, brilliant as other writers such as Albert Pike & Manly Hall are on these esoteric subjects, there's something different about Crowley, one can sense we're looking at the real deal so to speak. I believe he taught many individuals who ultimately became leaders in many different spheres of endeavour, circumstantial evidence suggests he was tutor to Trotsky (regardless of what Spence says; see below), Eamonn de Valera, Mussolini, Hitler, possibly Churchill (Crowley said he gave him the 'V' sign), Lenin & maybe even Stalin, bearing in mind his multiple connections with Russians & Russia. If one watches footage of these mens speeches before they assumed power, they all exhibit a similar manic, possessed even (brainwashed), mannerisms, & mind-control was a forte of the Beast, as it has been of the secret services/societies for 100's & 1000's of years. All this is speculative I know, however, this I believe was one of the Beasts primary roles in life, protected as he was by the veil of 'national security' & endless mythology regarding his degeneracy, he could have been up to pretty much anything, as indeed, he usually was. Crowley's work, 'The Book of Thoth' was in his own estimation the consummation of a lifetimes study. The subject-matter contained therein; 'The 'Tarot', is, I believe being played out on a world scale before our eyes, specifically the 22 (11- 11) 'Trump' cards of the Tarot deck. Everything is being destroyed, old ideas, creeds etc are being replaced & a new way of thinking, behaving, living, are being inculcated into our consciousness; 'XVI. THE TOWER (OR: WAR) This card is attributed to the letter Pe', which means a mouth; it refers to the planet Mars. In its simplest interpretation it refers to the manifestation of cosmic energy in its grossest form. The picture shows the destruction of existing material by fire. It may be taken as the preface to Atu XX, the Last Judgment, i.e., the Coming of a New Aeon. This being so, it seems to indicate the quintessential quality of the Lord of the Aeon. At the bottom part of the card, therefore, is shown the destruction of the old-established Aeon by lightning, flames, engines of war.' (Book of Thoth).
By his own admission, Crowley worked his pants off to get America into WW1. Using extant FBI files as his source, Spence points the blame for the sinking of the Lusitania squarely in the direction of Crowley, albeit without managing to prove his guilt outright, although there's no need to really, as many more vessels were sunk as a direct result of Crowley's actions. Crowley was an Al-chemist, by writing propaganda in magazines, newspapers the citizens of the US read daily, he insidiously transformed their consciousness by stages so that by the time he'd hoodwinked the desperate Germans into torpedoing the doomed liner, the public were ready for war against Germany. & they say Goebells was the master propagandist? When the two did cross swords, the German didn't last two seconds in the ring with old Crowley, who probably taught him everything he knew anyway. Such is the work of the secret services. To further demonstrate our contention we need only check academias (Spence) word for it; 'To this end, on 22nd January 1917, Reuss [Theodore] announced the creation of "Anational Congress" at Monte Veritas [Switzerland] that coming summer. The gathering would bring like-minded folk from war-torn Europe to lay the foundations of "new ethics, a new religion, a new social order" based vaguely on socialist principles. Reuss noted two "neutral centres" of the Order, in Monte Veritas & New York. The latter was in the hands of the Beast……After 1914, Raffalovitch's [AC associate & A∴A∴ member] nationalism led him to the Germans, who offered support to Ukranian nationalists as they did to the Irish & Indian. Raffalovitch's subsequent appearance in New York was to rally Ukranian-Americans to the cause, though he denied that Berlin was behind this. Raffalovitch claimed to be a secret agent for mysterious persons inside Russia, probably anti-Tsarist groups. He may also have been a double agent for Russian Intelligence. Whatever the case, he afforded Crowley further access to intrigue-infested Russian circles in New York, from Baroness Seidlitz's occult salon to revolutionary cells plotting in Greenwich Village.' &; 'Between January & March 1917, Trotsky found refuge in the United States. His clashes with leading New York socialists over the question of U.S. entry into World War I would reshape the American left for the next fifty years.' - http://www.counterpointpress.com/dd-product/trotsky-in-new-york-1917/ To keep track with Crowley's two-ing & fro-wing between British, German, Irish & Russian agencies I'd suggest buying a decent Crowley bio then get Spences book, I'd personally recommend Richard Kazynski's 'Perderabo' (2002) as the two books complement each other, perhaps that was the intention. In any event, it appears Crowley had a hand in almost all the momentous political events of the early half of the 20th Cen, certainly he can be placed at the centre of the two most destructive wars in history. But in what capacity? One of AC's more bizarre claims was he could make himself invisible, which I take to mean having the ability to anonymously melt into ones surroundings at will, to 'hide in plain sight' as it were, by use of disguise (see above image), the Rosicrucians after all were originally called the 'Invisible College'. These people are slippery for sure, it's exceedingly difficult to place the pin on the serpents tail with this lot, however I think Richard Spence has helped to scatter some of the mist in that respect. Aleister Crowley has been accused of many things, sacrificing children, summoning the devil, torturing his family members & so on, most of which he denied, & maybe he personally didn't do these things, but how could he deny the sacrificing of millions of children in the bloodbaths he actively helped to create? Or the limitless grief of untold family members that had to suffer because of his quest for the Holy Grail? I don't recall the God of the Bible ever requiring anywhere near the amount of blood Crowley & company need to supplicate to their gods, for one 'atonement' or another….the appetite for destruction of the pagan gods seems to be insatiable! Not to mention the fact that the pagans never even believed in the God of the Bible.
When I read somewhere that Aleister Crowley invoked the entity known in the Bible as 'Satan', I have a hard time dismissing it as superstitious nonsense. I think in whatever form the Mystery Schools view this entity has it's being, they've shown time & again they're deadly serious in bringing about it's manifestation to pass….'the ends justifies the means' as they say. From what I've learned, I regard it all to mean principally a shift in consciousness, as the gods they worship have always been in the human body, heart, mind, nature itself (Pan) & the cosmos. From Crowley's 'Liber Israfel' (1908), we read; 'In the name of the Mighty & Terrible One, I proclaim that I have banished the Shells unto their habitations. I invoke Tahuti, the Lord of Wisdom & of Utterance, the God that cometh forth from the Veil. O Thou! Majesty of Godhead! Wisdom-crowned Tahuti! Lord of the Gates of the Universe! Thee, Thee, I invoke! O Thou of the Ibis Head! Thee, Thee I invoke. Thou who wieldest the Wand of Double Power! Thee, Thee I invoke! Thou who bearest in Thy left hand the Rose & Cross of Light & Life: Thee, Thee I invoke.' Tahiti or Thoth is the Greek Hermes & the Roman Mercury. According to Madame Blavatsky (The Secret Doctrine). 'Satan is Hermes'. Being an Alchemist, Crowley was heavily into chemicals, to what extent though is hard to ascertain, certainly he was a thrill-seeker & liked to party ('Adventurer' is the proper term among British aristocracy), but reports of an intake of Herculean proportions of drink & drugs?? I can't see it. If the British were actively engaged in the world-wide distribution of opium & other narcotics for the purposes of addicting as many people as possible, & they are/were, then a work of Crowley's 'Drug Fiend' description would be useful in glamorising drug-taking to the gullible. Maybe he did have a drug habit, most people I know do as well & function OK.  Crowley used as the basis for much of his magical practices the work of Elizabethan I Court Astrologer, secret service agent & Rosicrucian John Dee. Like Nostradamus, Dee wrote a series of prophecies known as the 'Enochian Keys' (See my blog of that name). These 18 (6+6+6) 'Keys' are delineated in former San Francisco Police Department Operative Anton Lavey's, 'Satanic Bible' (1966 - see my Rock n Roll blog); 'I have presented my translation of the following calls with an archaic but Satanically correct unvarnishing of the translation employed by the Order of the Golden Dawn in the late Nineteenth Century. In Enochian the meaning of the words, combined with the quality of the words, unite to create a pattern of sound which can cause tremendous reaction in the atmosphere. The barbaric tonal qualities of this language give it a truly magical effect which cannot be described. For many years the Enochian Keys, or Calls, have been shrouded in secrecy. The few printings that have existed completely eliminate the correct wording, as the proper translation has been disguised through the use of euphemisms, & only designed to throw the inept magician &/or would-be inquisitor off the track. Apocryphal as they have become (& who can tell what grim reality provokes the "fantasy"), the Enochian Calls are the Satanic paeans of faith.' It's easy to make a scapegoat out of Aleister Crowley, what's difficult is understanding there was an army of face/nameless bureaucrats at work behind the scenes with Crowley every step of the way. At the beginning I quoted AC's 'Book of Thoth' in which he mentions; 'The card therefore represented the destruction of the world by Fire. This was accomplished in the year of the vulgar era 1904' I also mentioned the the Agreement between Britain & France declaring a future hostility towards Germany, in which the 'Entente Cordial' was signed on 7th April 1904. From Richard Kazynski's 'Perdarabo' we read; 'Brugsch arranged for his French assistant to translate & reproduce the stele. The inscriptions, it turned out, were adaptions from the 'Egyptian Book of the Dead'. Once Crowley received the translations, he set it to verse. On April 7th, Rose went into a trance & gave new instructions to her husband'. The 'husband' was Crowley, receiving via the medium of his wife 'Rose', the 'Book of the Law' from his guardian angel 'Aiwass', the day the Entente Cordial was signed. All very convenient I must say. '"The Devil" is, historically, the God of any people that one personally dislikes. This has led to so much confusion of thought that THE BEAST 666 has preferred to let names stand as they are, & to proclaim simply that AIWAZ --- the solar-phallic-hermetic "Lucifer" is His own Holy Guardian Angel' - A Crowley (Magic in Theory & Practice). Crowley rightly could be regarded as the father of modern Satanism & Witchcraft; 'I invoke Thee, the Terrible & Invisible God: Who dwellest in the Void Place of the Spirit: - AR-O-GO-GO-RU-ABRAO "Thou spiritual Sun! Satan, Thou Eye, Thou Lust! Cry aloud! Cry aloud! Whirl the Wheel, O my Father, O Satan, O Sun!" - A Crowley (Liber Samekh). From Colin Wilson's 'The Nature of the Beast' (1987) we read; 'After the Second World War, there was a strong revival of interest in 'occultism'. The law that made witchcraft illegal in England was repealed in 1951, & three years later, a 'witch' called Gerald Gardner published Witchcraft Today, alleging there was still dozens of covens-groups of witches- practicing all over England. He explained that they were followers of a nature religion called Wicca. Gardner was a friend of Crowley's, & an initiate of the OTO, & Crowley authorised him to set up his own magical group.' The 'Encyclopaedia of Witchcraft' (R Grimassi) states of Gardner; '….perhaps the best-known figure in modern Witchcraft.' Crowley certainly personally killed people, like with the Clintons, many people connected to AC who were perfectly well one minute would suddenly collapse & die, Spence conjectures Aleister as being behind the mysterious deaths of associates who'd crossed the Beast in some form or another, he did kill an Indian who Crowley said was trying to rob him, so are we to imagine a man like Master Therion would stop at just the one hit? When the British Empire's policy towards the inhabitants of it's colonies was one of a continual genocide? For reference ask any Indian, Irishman, African, Native American, Chinaman or Australian Aborigine. Crowley's debauched life is not in doubt, he was a deeply troubled individual for sure, yet many still maintain that Aleister Crowley is nothing short of a messianic figure, as indeed did the Great Beast 666 himself. However, if the objective of this blog is to connect the secret serves & societies, & to identify their diabolical, socialistic, subversive natures, then I think this can be summed up most succinctly with these couple of quotes from Richard Spence; 'Then on 9 June the Department of Justice received a letter from Joseph W. Norwood of Louisville, Kentucky. Norwood was secretary of the Louisville-based International Magian Society, who described themselves as "freemasons concerned with combating pro-German, Bolshevist & radical propaganda." Norwood was a self-proclaimed expert on Masonic symbolism & a student of Oriental occultism. According to Norwood, Crowley had recently contacted his organisation offering confidential information & other services. The Beast billed himself as "a member of the British mission to the United States" & confessed that in the employ of His Majesties Secret Service "my main job [was] to bring America into the war." &; 'One notable visitor to the [Greenwich] Village in early 1917 was Leon Trotsky, soon to become Lenin's second in command. Crowley was in New Orleans & Florida at the time but his friend Frank Harris [listed by Spence as an actual or presumed A∴A∴member] interviewed Trotsky. Ivan Narodny, the anti-Tsarist émigré mentioned above, was also interested in Trotsky. An active revolutionary & fierce enemy of Berlin & the Bolsheviks, Narodny shared Crowley's interest in art & the metaphysical. Both frequented the soirées of another of the Beast's New York friends, the eccentric artist Robert Winthrop Chanler. These swinging get-togethers provided an excellent means to sow & reap information. Soon after the Bolsheviks came to power, Crowley wrote to Trotsky to praise the Revolution & offer help in ridding the world of the scourge of Christianity.'
