 (Below is a partial synopsis of Arthur C. Clarkes 1982 Sci-Fi novel; 2010 Odyssey II, taken from Wikipedia) 'Plot summary The story is set nine years after the failure of the Discovery One mission to Jupiter. A joint Soviet-American crew, including Heywood Floyd from 2001, on the Soviet spaceship Alexei Leonov (named after the cosmonaut) arrives to discover what went wrong with the earlier mission, to investigate the monolith in orbit around the planet, & to resolve the disappearance of David Bowman..... However, a Chinese space station rockets out of Earth orbit, revealing itself to be the interplanetary spacecraft Tsien, also aimed at Jupiter. The Leonov crew members think the Chinese are on a one-way trip due to its speed, but Floyd surmises that due to the large water content of Europa they intend to land there & use the water content to refuel. The Tsien's daring mission ends in failure, when it is destroyed by an indigenous life-form on Europa......Mission crewmember & HAL 9000's creator, Dr. Chandra, reactivates the computer to ascertain the cause of his earlier aberrant behaviour. After some time, Floyd is speaking to Vasili Orlov on board, & Orlov, for an instant, sees the Monolith dubbed 'Big Brother' open again, into a Stargate, as David Bowman escapes from the Monolith's dimension back into ours. (Dr. Floyd is unfortunately facing the wrong direction & does not see this.) A sequence of scenes follows the explorations of David Bowman, who has been transformed into a non-corporeal, energy-based life-form, much like the aliens controlling the monoliths. During his journey, the avatar of Bowman appears on Earth, making contact with significant individuals from his past: He visits his mother...... The aliens are using Bowman as a probe to learn about humankind. He then returns to the Jupiter system to explore beneath the ice of Europa, where he finds aquatic life-forms, & under the clouds of Jupiter, where he discovers gaseous life-forms. Both are primitive, but the aliens deem the Europan creatures to have evolutionary potential. An apparition of Bowman appears before Floyd, warning him that they must leave Jupiter within fifteen days. .......HAL & the Discovery will be trapped in Jupiter's orbit, with insufficient fuel to escape. The crew are worried that HAL will have the same neurosis on discovering that he will be abandoned yet again, so Chandra must convince HAL that the human crew is in danger. The Leonov crew flees Jupiter as a mysterious dark spot appears on Jupiter & begins to grow. HAL's telescope observations reveal that the "Great Black Spot" is, in fact, a vast population of monoliths, increasing at an exponential rate, which appear to be eating the planet. By acting as self-replicating machines, these monoliths increase Jupiter's density until the planet achieves nuclear fusion, becoming a small star. This obliterates the primitive life forms inhabiting the Jovian atmosphere, which the Monoliths' controllers had deemed highly unlikely to ever achieve intelligence, unlike the aquatic life of Europa. As Jupiter is about to transform, Bowman returns to Discovery to give HAL a last order to carry out. HAL begins repeatedly broadcasting the message ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS – EXCEPT EUROPA. ATTEMPT NO LANDINGS THERE. The creation of the new star, which Earth eventually names Lucifer, destroys Discovery...... Epilogue The book ends with a brief epilogue, which takes place in AD 20,001. By this time, the Europans have evolved into a species that has developed a primitive civilisation, most likely with assistance from a monolith. They are not described in detail, though they are said to have "tendril"-like limbs. They regard the star Lucifer (formerly the planet Jupiter) as their primary sun, referring to Sol as "The Cold Sun"...... The Europans who explore the Farside have been carefully observing the night sky & have begun to develop a mythology based on their observations. They correctly believe that Lucifer was not always there. They believe that the Cold Sun was its brother & was condemned to march around the sky for a crime....... Finally, there is a Monolith on the planet, which is worshipped by the Europans more than anything else. The Europans assume, correctly, that the Monolith is what keeps humans at bay. Dave Bowman & HAL lie dormant in this Monolith. The Monolith is the guardian of Europa, & will continue to prevent contact between humans & Europans for as long as it sees fit.'
The film of the sequel was released in the auspicious year of 1984, however, also in 1982 were released E.T. & Holy Blood Holy Grail, although for different reasons, both dealt with earth-shatteringly startling hypotheses, which perhaps explains why Clarkes Odyssey II slipped under the radar somewhat. Nevertheless considering recent events, Clarkes story seems to have a more pertinent resonance for our consideration although as usual, if we look deep enough we'll find the odd contact between the three. 'Every man & woman is a Star'Aleister Crowley The Book Of The Law (1904) There are metaphors throughout, some I've left highlighted, some I have not, the first is 'Odyssey', it pertains to journeyman Odysseus, whose travails are recounted in the Greek Myth of the conquerer of Troy who spent some 10yrs trying to return back home after the Trojan War. The story relates to the Initiatory Rites of the ancient Greeks, specifically the Orphic (if I remember aright) & pertains to the difficult adventures undertook in life & self mastery, all allegorised somewhat vividly in these ancient rituals. Odysseus, the Candidate is sailing through the vast sea of uncertainty of his own subconscious, filled with the perils of scary monsters he himself has created through self doubt, lack of discipline etc.... The later tales of the Medieval Holy Grail were of the same structure, & it may be worth mentioning the work of James Joyce entitled Ulysses, published on 2.2.1922 (11/11s), of which T.S. Elliot wrote; 'I hold this book to be the most important expression which the present age has found; it is a book to which we are all indebted, & from which none of us can escape.' Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun's Tomb in November 1922. (Ulysses is the Roman term for Odysseus) 'Space' is Isis in the Qabbalah. Space isn't merely a vast void or vacuum we're surrounded by to the Mysteries, it is likened to a fluidic ocean, that nurtures & sustains countless life forms & is also the medium through which the energies of the sun (magnetism, light etc...), stars & all astral bodies pass to consistently vitalise our planet. Thus to them & to many of the ancients, space is likened to a kind of life-giving mother; 'SPACE is, in reality, the container & the body of the universe with its 7 principles. It is a body of limitless extent, whose PRINCIPLES, in Occult phraseology-each being in its turn a septenary....' - Madame Blavatsky The Secret Doctrine (1888). Space is also the mind. As spoken of above by Blavatsky we have the numerology recurrence of the number 21 in the Odyssey series, or 7 7 7 (septenary) as deleniated in Aleister Crowleys book on the Qabbalah; 7 7 7 & other Qabbalistic Writings, compiled by one of his disciples Israel Regardie, 7/7 is aslo the formula for the ressurection of Osiris, otherwise known as Lucifer. Numbers are magical devices devised & designed to exact change in some manner or another, these pictures have a profound effect on the subconscious.  Next is the US/Soviet stand-off ritual, dramatised by the Cold War. As we know, the scam was just a prelude to the synthesis of two contrived systems of Capitalism v Communism, just one of the many games they play, such as the one in Nothern Ireland or in Palestine, the object being the destruction of both opposing sides & the merger or mingling of the two polarities into a new religion in this case, in politics it's called the Third Way & is all part of the process of; Alchemy, the transmutation of the metals (see my Tinfoil Blog). Enter the Dragon, or the Chinese. Why have they been depicted as so mysterious an entity over the last 70 or 80yrs, what gives as they say? The Tsien is Chinese physicist Qian Xuesen who worked on the Manhattan Project, friend of the father of Rocket Science & disciple of Aleister Crowley, who then returned the China to develop their nuclear arsenal. '...a Chinese space station rockets out of Earth orbit, revealing itself to be the interplanetary spacecraft Tsien, also aimed at Jupiter.' The Manhattan Project resulted in the dropping of two nuclear bombs on two Japanese cities. Prior to & during WWII, China was at war with Japan; The land of the rising sun & shortly after the war, China bexame Communist. The Monolith in the Mysteries is the regenerative principle in nature, the obelisk, the church steeple, Londons Big Ben etc... In the (1984) film 2010 Odyssey II, the monolith is termed Big Brother, the Monolith is also the Lost Word of Freemasonry, which is the phallus of Osiris. (I don't know why but M.P. Hall keeps referring to the actors in Homers Odyssey by their Roman equivalents, in any event, Odysseus aspires to a Jupiterian level of Heroic attainment in the Mystery system of initiation) Jupiter (Zeus) in the Mysteries is the consciousness (again see my Tinfoil Blog), Jupiter in Odyssey II is to be TRANSFORMED via nuclear explosion into a new star (remember the Tsien connection & Crowley quote). The new star, named Lucifer will be the guiding light for the new species of beings created by all this fusion on Europa; 'They correctly believe that Lucifer was not always there. They believe that the Cold Sun was its brother & was condemned to march around the sky for a crime.......' In the Mysteries, Jesus & Lucifer are brothers.

"Lightworker" vs. "Starseed"'Many people often become confused with the terms "lightworker" & "starseed." The differences between these two types of individuals has to do with the soul's origin, their core objective, & the foundations of their expertise. The Star Gate brings Bowman to a replica of a Hotel Room. In this space, time seems to excel or jump toward the final days of Bowman’s life. Like a dream, he sees himself at older life stages of himself until he assumingely expires. Bowman is then reincarnated into a Star Child, who then transforms into a type of energy being. 2010: Odyssey Two In 2010: Odyssey Two & its film adaption, the Star Child makes its second appearance, where Heywood Floyd encounters a version of Bowman on the Discovery.'
